We also provide support to the district’s Autism program. As an educational facility our primary purpose is to provide an educationally appropriate program for each student designed around their individual needs and supported by our related services. Our staff consists of the principal, two associate principals, senior secretary, office clerk, 3 educational diagnostician, 2 instructional coaches, 1 technology paraprofessional, 38 teachers, 75 paraprofessionals, 6 psychologist, 8 speech pathologist, 4 nurses, 7 occupational therapist, 2 physical therapist, 1 aquatics director, 1 certified lifeguard, and 2 adaptive PE teachers. Other programs include music, art, physical education and a sensory integration room. Specialists in visual impairment, deaf-blindness, and orthopedics (from the public and private sectors) serve the students on a regular basis. A consultative and integrated approach to service delivery is used where teachers and therapists work collaboratively in designing and delivering educational and therapeutic strategies in the classroom.
